Connecting to your student¶
Parents and guardians link to their students with a 4-digit code. Once linked, you can see that student's balances, statements, forms and purchases.
Finding the code¶
Every student has their own 4-digit code, and the student is the one who can see it:
- Have the student sign in to myblueboard.
- Open myInfo.
- The 4-digit code appears beside their name.
If your student can't sign in yet, ask your director — they can see the code on the student's account.
Each student has a different code. Two children means two codes.
Linking¶
- Sign in to your parent account.
- Open myFamily.
- Select Add, then Link myStudent.
- Enter the 4-digit code and choose your relation to that student — mother, father, grandparent, guardian and so on.
- Select Link Account. Your dashboard refreshes with the student's information.
You can also enter the code while registering, which links you immediately.
Once linked, myFamily lists each student you're connected to, with their section, email and groups. Students see their linked parents and guardians in the same place.
Connecting more than one student¶
Repeat the process with each student's own code. There's no limit, and each can have its own relation — useful when you're a parent to one child and a guardian to another.
Changing a relation¶
In myFamily, select Add, then Edit Relation. That option only appears once you have at least one student linked.
Entering the same code again with a different relation also updates it rather than creating a duplicate link.
Codes don't expire, and they're not passwords¶
The code links accounts. It doesn't sign anyone in and it doesn't grant access to anything on its own.
That said, anyone with your student's code can link themselves as a guardian and see that student's financial information. Treat it as you would a house key: fine to give a grandparent, not something to post in a group chat.
If a code has been shared more widely than you'd like, ask your director — they can see who is linked to a student and remove anyone who shouldn't be.
Troubleshooting¶
"The 4-digit code does not match a student."
- Check the digits, including any leading zero — codes are always four digits
- Make sure it's your student's code, not a code from a form or a promo code
- Confirm the student's account is set up in myblueboard
You linked the wrong student. Ask your director to remove the link. Parents can't unlink themselves.
You linked successfully but see nothing new. Sign out and back in, then check myFamily — the student should be listed there.
Your student doesn't have an account yet. They need one before a code exists. See Creating your account.
What linking changes¶
Beyond seeing your student's information, linking also puts you in the groups your student belongs to, so you receive the announcements and messages meant for their section or ensemble.
This is why linking matters even if you don't need the financial side — it's how you stop missing communication.
