Granting Access¶
Access is granted from the Elevated Access tab of Settings — select your name in the top navigation, then Settings, then Elevated Access.
You need Admin Access to grant access to anyone else.
Who appears on this page¶
The page lists exactly two groups of people:
- Parents
- Staff Directors — directors created with restricted access
Full Directors and students aren't listed
Full Directors already have every group automatically, so there's nothing to grant. Students don't receive administrative access groups at all.
If you're looking for someone and can't find them, they're almost certainly a Full Director — which means they already have what you were about to give them.
Granting¶
- Check the box for the access group you want to give.
- Find the person in the list.
- Select Add beside their name.
Removing works the same way. Changes take effect for that person's next sign-in.
Admin Access is all-or-nothing¶
Granting Admin Access assigns every access group at once. Removing it takes them all back.
Grant a specific group — myShop Admin Access, Attendance Access — when someone needs one area. Reserve Admin Access for people who should have the whole system.
There's one guard: a Staff Director cannot be granted Admin Access. That restriction is the point of the Staff Director account type, and the system enforces it. To give someone full access, they need to be a Full Director.
Granting access to a parent¶
Parents are frequently the right people to run a booster store, manage volunteers, or handle forms. Granting a parent the relevant group is normal and expected — it doesn't change their account type or affect what they see about their own students.
A parent with myShop Admin Access sees their family's information exactly as before, plus the store's management tools.
Good practice¶
- Grant the narrowest group that does the job. Someone running the spirit-wear sale needs myShop Admin Access, not Admin Access
- Review at the start of each season. Volunteers move on; access doesn't expire on its own
- Remove access when someone leaves, especially Financials and Accounts
- Keep at least two people with Admin Access. One is a single point of failure the week they're on vacation
