Creating your account¶
There are two ways to get a myblueboard account:
- Your director creates it for you. You'll get an email inviting you to set a password. Nothing else is needed — skip to the mobile app.
- You sign up yourself. Covered below.
Self sign-up is a per-organization setting
Your organization chooses whether parents, students, both, or neither can sign up on their own. If you don't see a Register option, your director creates accounts instead — contact them rather than trying to work around it.
Signing up¶
Go to your organization's myblueboard address and choose Register. If both parent and student sign-up are enabled you'll pick which you are; if only one is, you go straight there.
Students¶
You'll be asked for:
- First and last name
- Email address — this is your sign-in name
- Section — the ensemble or group you belong to
- Grade level
- A password
Pick the section and grade you're actually in. A director can correct them later, but getting them right means you land in the right groups immediately.
Parents and guardians¶
You'll be asked for:
- First and last name
- Email address — this is your sign-in name
- Your relation to the student — mother, father, grandparent, guardian and so on
- Your student's 4-digit code — optional here, and you can add it later
- A password
If you have the code handy, entering it now links you to your student straight away. If not, leave it blank — you can add it from myFamily once you're signed in. See Connecting to your student.
What happens next¶
Your account needs your director's approval before you can sign in. Self-registered accounts start inactive on purpose — it's what stops strangers joining your organization's system.
You'll get a confirmation email letting you know the request went through, and another once a director approves it. Approval is a person doing something, so timing depends on them — a day or two is normal, and longer around holidays.
If you try to sign in before approval, it won't work. That's expected and doesn't mean anything went wrong with your registration.
Trouble signing up¶
"An account with this email already exists." You already have an account — possibly one your director created for you. Use Forgot password rather than registering again.
No confirmation email. Check spam, then confirm you typed your address correctly. All
myblueboard mail comes from sender@myblueboard.com; adding it to your contacts helps.
Approved but still can't sign in. Use Forgot password to set a fresh password.
Still stuck. Contact your director. They can see your account and approve or fix it — this is faster than contacting myblueboard, who can't see your organization's roster decisions.
