myShop Settings¶
Manage myShop → Settings holds the store-wide options that don't belong on any one product.
Archived products¶
Deleting a product in myShop archives it rather than destroying it. Archived products:
- Disappear from your storefront and from POS View
- Keep their full order history, so past sales stay reportable
- Can be restored from this page at any time
This is why deleting is recoverable. If a product vanished and you need it back, this is where it went.
Restoring a product whose category was removed in the meantime may leave it without one — check its category after restoring.
Categories¶
Rename and remove categories here.
A category can only be removed once no active products are assigned to it. If removal is refused, an active product is still pointing at it — move or archive that product first.
Checkout options¶
Two settings control what checkout asks purchasers for:
- Collect phone number — whether checkout asks for one at all
- Phone number required — whether it's mandatory
They work together. Collection off means the field never appears. Collection on with required off means it's asked but skippable.
Worth thinking about rather than defaulting: a phone number is genuinely useful for order-pickup questions, and it's also one more field between a purchaser and a completed sale. Required phone numbers cost you some checkouts. If you never actually call anyone, don't require it.
