Settings

Configuration used to be scattered across separate menu entries — Update School Settings, Update Sections, myLinks Manager, Grant Elevated Access — each at its own address with no way to get from one to the next. They are now tabs on a single Settings page.

Getting there

Select your name in the top navigation, then Settings.

The entry only appears if you have Admin Access. Settings opens on the first tab you're allowed to see, so you land somewhere useful rather than on a permission error.

The tabs

Tab What it holds Where it used to be
Organization School name, address, contact details Update School Settings
Branding Colours, logo, background image, email banner Update School Settings
Registration Who may register, and what they're asked for Update School Settings
Financials Payment processors — PayPal and Stripe, which one handles fees, myShop and the POS, card readers — PayPal fees, invoices, account credits, credit transfers, fee support, splitting fees Update School Settings
Email Email banner and bounce recipients Update School Settings
Sections Your sections and instrument groups Update Sections
myLinks The custom links in your navigation menu myLinks Manager
Google Calendar Connecting a Google calendar Google Calendar settings
Elevated Access Granting access to parents and Staff Directors Grant Elevated Access

Each tab has its own colour, carried by the dot beside its label and the line under the active tab, so where you are is readable at a glance.

Tabs you may not see

The strip only draws the tabs you can actually open — a hidden tab is one you have no permission for, not one that is broken.

  • Financials needs Financials Access or Admin Access, and only appears if myFinancials is part of your subscription. Community organizations do not have it.
  • Email only appears if myEmail is part of your subscription.
  • Every other tab needs Admin Access.

Saving

Each tab saves on its own, with its own button — Save Financials, Save Branding, and so on. A tab only writes the settings it shows, so two admins working on different tabs no longer overwrite each other.

If something can't be saved, the page highlights the field and explains why, rather than failing silently.

Settings appear as you enable them

Some settings only make sense once another is on, and stay hidden until it is. Turning on Enable account credits reveals the Credit transfers section beneath it, for example. Turning a setting back off hides what sits under it without changing those values.

Old links still work

Bookmarks and older instructions pointing at the previous addresses — including /admin_access/settings, /admin_access/sections and /admin_access/elevated_access — redirect to the matching tab. Each tab also has its own address, so you can bookmark or share a link to one directly.
