Switching accounts — using one email at multiple programs

Plenty of families belong to more than one program — two children in different organizations, or a booster club and a school that both use myblueboard. You can use the same email address at each one.

Each program keeps its own separate account, even when the email address is identical. That means:

  • Each program has its own password. Changing your password at one program does not change it at the others.
  • Each program has its own information — your students, statements, fees and messages don't cross between them.
  • You're signed in to one program at a time. Opening a second program in another browser tab won't work; the newer sign-in takes over.

Switch Accounts is how you move between them without typing a password each time.

Before you can switch

A program only appears in your list after you've signed in to it at least once, normally. So:

  1. Sign in at the first program's address, for example programone.myblueboard.com.
  2. Sign in at the second program's address with that program's password.

From then on, both are saved and you can switch freely.

Switching on the website

  1. Click the grid icon in the top-right corner of the page.
  2. In the menu that opens — it shows your name and email at the top — choose Switch Accounts.
  3. Under Your Accounts you'll see a card for each program, with the one you're using now marked Current Account.
  4. On the program you want, click Switch to this account.
  5. Confirm when asked — you'll be signed out of the program you're in and taken to the other one.

You land signed in, with no password to re-enter.

To take a program off the list, click Remove on its card. Nothing happens to the account itself; it comes back the next time you sign in there.

Don't just type the other address

Going straight to the other program's web address doesn't switch you — your browser is still signed in to the first program, and you'll keep seeing that program's information. Use Switch Accounts, or sign out first.

Switching in the mobile app

The app keeps its own list, separate from the website's. The important part happens at sign-in.

  1. On the sign-in screen, fill in School Url, Email Address and Password for the program.
  2. Turn on Remember this account before you tap LOG IN. This is the step people miss — without it the program is never saved, and it won't appear in the switcher.
  3. Log out, then repeat for your other program using that program's School Url and password.

Once both are saved:

  1. Tap the grid button at the right of the app header — the same idea as on the website.
  2. Tap Switch Accounts.
  3. Tap the program you want. It switches straight away — no password, no confirmation.

Tap the trash icon beside a program to take it off the list.

A few app limits

  • The app remembers up to five accounts. Adding a sixth drops the one you've had longest.
  • The list is on that device only. Switching on your phone doesn't change your tablet or the website.
  • Switch Accounts is only in the header while you're signed in — the sign-in screen has no account picker. After logging out you'll enter the School Url, email and password again.

Common problems

A program isn't in my list. You haven't signed in to it since the list started, or on the app you signed in without Remember this account. Sign in to that program once — on the app, with the toggle on — and it will appear.

"It's been more than 6 months since you logged into…" Saved sign-ins expire after six months. Sign in to that program normally once and it's saved again.

"Email address already exists" when I sign up. That address is already used at that program. Use Forgot password on that program's sign-in page rather than creating a second account. See Managing your account.

I don't know a program's web address. Check any myblueboard email from that program, or ask its director. There's no way to look up which programs an email belongs to.

I forgot one program's password. Use Forgot password on that program's sign-in page. It only resets that program's password.
